Baccarat is a casino table games that is played with cards. The cards are dealt from a shoe that holds between 6 and 8 decks of cards. Baccarat is a 2 player game and many people can bet on the outcome.

In baccarat there are only 3 bets that can be made. You can bet on the player, the banker or a tie. If you bet on the player and win you are paid 1:1 on your original bet. If you bet on the banker and win you are paid 1:1 on your original bet but the house usually takes 5%, but some take as little as 4%. If you bet on a tie and win your payout can be as much at 8 or 9 to 1. When there is a tie, and it is very rare any bets on the bank and the player are returned

At the beginning of each round players have a chance to make their bets and once the bet is placed there are no chances to raise your bets. The banker and the players hands are dealt by the dealer according to a pre determined set of rules that allows a player to receive 2 or 3 cards.

A winner is determined by the total sum of their cards. All cards over 9 are counted as a zero and all of the other cards are valued by their face value. If you are dealt your 2 cards and you have a hand that totals a 2 digit number only the 2nd digit is counted for your score. An example of this would we if you are dealt a 7 and a 5 which adds up to 12 so your hand value is a 2 and you would be dealt another card. The goal of the game is to get a higher hand then the other player. A hand that adds up to a 9 is the best hand you can have, and if both the player and the banker get the same total the game is declared a tie.

The rules for the players hand states that if the players first 2 cards total a 6 or higher the player is not given a third card, and if the cards are a 5 or lower the player is automatically given the 3rd card.

The banker must stand on a 2 card hand that totals 7 or better. Should the banker be dealt a hand that adds up to 0, 1 or a 2 then the banker automatically is given another card. If the banker receives a 2 card hand of a 3, 4, 5 or a 6 then if the player took a 3rd card the value of that card determines if the banker will be given a last card. A chart will be posted on the table of what values will allow or disallow the banker to get the third card.
