What Is Mini-Baccarat?

When big ticket entertainment becomes unaffordable we will be ready to enjoy the same forms of entertainment available for less money, with slightly smaller rewards.  That is what mini Baccarat is all about.

Mini baccarat is known as the younger brother of American baccarat; however, as the name denotes, it is played with lesser betting limits and with some variations in rules. The mini baccarat table is smaller than the standard baccarat table. The table is just the size of a blackjack table. About 7 players play in this game, the dealer is always the banker and none of the players will be allowed to deal with the shoe.

The players place their bet on player winning or banker winning or the game being a tie.

• Player wins when the player will have a hand total number close to 9 or a number higher than the dealer. 
• Banker wins when the dealer will have a hand total number close to 9 or a number higher than the player. 
• The game being a tie where the dealer and the player both have equal valued hands.
  The Game Proceeds
• Players make their bets on who will win.
• The croupier deals 4 face up cards two for the banker and two for the dealer.
• The hands are totaled and evaluated according to standard baccarat rules.  The rules for the draw for the Banker and the player are followed.

Third Card Dealing For Player

• After the first 2 cards are dealt, in cases where the total of the first two cards is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, the player is dealt with a third card (last card).
• If the hand total is 6, 7, 8, or 9 totaling the first two cards, then no more cards are dealt.
  

Third Card Dealing For Banker

After totaling the first 2 cards; the bank will be allowed to draw the third card if the total of the first two cards is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.

Some exceptions for Bank’s hand draw in cases where the total is 6 is:

• If 6 or 7 is the hand total of the player with three cards, then the bank draws.
• If 6 or 7 is the hand total of the player with two cards, then the bank stands.

The hand totaling and point evaluation is similar to the regular baccarat.  Face cards have a value of 10.  Numbers 1 to 10 have their face value.  Until 9 the points are same, in cases where it is 10 then the value if the digit in the one’s place is taken.  If the total is 10, then the value is zero; if the total is 12 then the value is 2 and so on. 9 is the natural win.  If there is no “9 total” then the number close to 9 is considered as the winner. The players who have bet on the banker or player or tie will be rewarded based on the outcome.
