Several states, literally a complete legislative session has been dragged on to discuss the goodness and evils of licensed casinos.
Regardless, in some states the lawmakers who were much against the legalization of the casinos turned in its favor when they realized that legalization can help them fill in the deficits in the state budget. However, some of them are still against casinos and their so- called value.
The American Indian Casinos in the US are a standing proof of the kind of good that casinos can do to a community. The revenue from the Indian Tribal casinos has been functioning much like a welfare department for the Indian Communities.
Several of the college fees for the Indian Students has been supported and backed up from the revenues from these casinos. Also, a number of other demands of the community like business development, education, career counseling and higher education have been supported on the whole by the $25 billion estimated yearly revenue throughout the country from Indian Casinos.
"What the casinos have done is give the tribal communities a way to support themselves and further their education," remarked an observer of the trends. The states are at present trying to look in to the goodness of the casinos and some of them are trying to approve casino gambling to support the educational expenses of the state and also to help fill in certain deficits in the budget.
Casino expansion is being visualized upon as a no-brainer deal to meet up with several deficits of the state by several lawmakers.
