The decline in big giant casino revenues has a much bigger influential cause attributable mainly to decline in tourism to Atlantic City and the Vegas. Most of the visitors to these centers used to fly in rather than drive in. So, that makes a lot of difference. The financial havoc has worked out from various spheres of finance to have eventually contributed to the existing business trends in these centers.
If these big centers have to be back to business as they were before, indeed the whole of the economy should shift to better.
The president of the IOWA Gaming Commission remarked that this is in response to the economy.
The rest of the casinos which did have a local and neighborhood clientele have seen a decline of 4 to 8%. This is not really related to the economic downturn because people are still seen gambling; however, there is an increased competition from neighboring states. People who once used to drive to neighboring states to gamble are now playing in their own states.
There does not seem to be a second hope for casino licensing in IOWA; however, a second casino can be accommodated in Des Moines. The IOWA commission will likely discuss on the issues.
More and more of regional casinos is going to be just an interior competition making the situation worse for already existing casinos.
The casino trends in IOWA are declining and bad nowadays. It is expected to better the forth coming year, but that need not be the case either.
