Atlantic City seems no more to be the state-of-art model for casinos.
Atlantic City was famous for gambling because it was legal to be gambling there. However, with the declining gambling business in Atlantic City more and more states were looking to legalization of gambling as an income for their state treasury. It is doubtful if Atlantic City will continue to be the gauge scale for gambling industry.
Legalization of gambling proceeds in Pennsylvania is seemingly a major check point for Atlantic City. Bill DeWeese paved way for a bill which favored legislation of gambling, specifically the table games in the Pennsylvania casinos. The day is not so far when legalization will be passed in the state.
Each of the casino operators for table games will have to pay a $10 million fee to operate legal table games. Those casinos which make this payment will be permitted to organize Blackjack, poker and crap table games.
Despite the contradictions the bill will likely win because it is expected that the Republicans will not be voting for broad-based taxes. This has in turn had pro-legalization people to hope that this is the right time to legalize table games in the industry in Pennsylvania. A maximum of $300 million can be expected revenues to the state if the bill is approved and passed on.
With the purpose of the legalization being an expectation of tax revenues Governor Rendell is apprehensive on whether the legalization of table games will bring in any reasonable revenues to fill in the deficiencies in the state budget.
