Attorneys in Italy are looking forward to amendments in the existing law with reference to the content of legalizing online casinos in Italy. The decree has been already approved by the lower house in Italy and it has passed through; however, the senate will have to approve of it.
The ‘Legge Comunitaria’ and Abruzzo laws which were altered earlier in the year by the Italian regulator Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato (AAMS) is the major reason for the expectation of changes in the way online casinos are being looked in to.
The 2008 Legge Comunitaria effective July 29, 2009 focuses a bit in to legalizing online casinos; however, it required that the companies which are allowing Italian players must be having a license based in Italy.
So, an AAMS license is very important to have Italians pay and play in casino sites. Perhaps the online casino clubs might be required to exclusively link the Italian players to play only in a domain name that is locally meant for Italians by way of re-directing Italians to the local site, rather than allowing them to log in at the global website of any operator.
The proceedings for such have not strengthened; however, in the near now all this is likely to be a reality. Things will clear up only when the new regulations are completely on the board.
