The Government of Britain has essentially short listed online casino companies which are legit.

Previously, it was opinioned that the statement was a rumor; however, there was a statement declared by the government confirming the same.

The sad story for those online casino companies which have been left off from the list is that the government is not likely to renew the list until the year 2010.  The lawmakers in the UK justifies the decision by stating that they need at least the minimum time span to review the UK Gambling Act before making any kind of changes to the White list, which has been created now.

Following the white list documents several of the online casinos who are operating from the UK have put forth complaints that there are several offshore companies who are not based in the UK enjoying the merits of being white listed for the UK zone.  The foreign companies which are in the white list will continue to mint out money from the UK competing with the local providers is their say.

It is expected that the UK Department of Culture, Media, and Sport will be trying to let non-UK companies to continue with their Business in the UK; however, they might be facing special taxes which might be applicable to offshore Internet gambling companies.

UK casino companies also re-instate that the offshore companies are not in compliance with the EU regulations applicable for online gambling. There are also complaints that EU nations are being allowed with decent competition in the UK; however, UK is receiving a contradictory treatment from their fellow nations.

The list might soon serve as a method to regulate online casino systems in the UK. The recent Antigua regulatory issues are in fact bringing in questions about the effectiveness of white listing the companies.
