There are two different types of roulette tables found in most casinos. The first type is the European Roulette table and the other is the American Roulette table. Here we will give a brief explanation on the differences between the two types of roulette tables and some of the different bets you can make.

The Roulette table is made up of two parts. The first part is the Wheel and the other is the betting table. The wheel consists of a wheel with a groove for the roulette ball to ride in and up to 38 numbered slots for the ball to fall into.

European Roulette
A European Roulette has 35 numbered slots that run from 1 to 36 and an extra slot for a green zero. European Roulette tables have a house advantage of 2.7% over the player. Most roulette systems were designed for the European roulette, because it is the oldest form of the game. The European form of this game is better for the players but is actually less popular because it has a lower payoff for a win.

American Roulette
The American Roulette table is essentially the same as the European table except that instead of having numbers that run from 0 to 36 it has a zero and a double zero which brings the house advantage from 2.7% up to 5.26. This version of roulette is harder to win but when you do win you get more money for it.

Betting Types
There are different types of bets that can be made when playing roulette. The two main kinds are inside betting and outside betting. These terms refer to inside of the table or the outside of the table.

The inside of the table is where you can place a bet on an individual number or groups of numbers. The outside of the table is where you can bet on an odd number or an even number and you can also bet on red or black to win.
